U.S. Army band performs for 1,800 guests at Senegal National Day event

The U.S. Army Europe and Africa Band and Chorus performed for a crowd of approximately 1,800 invited guests during the U.S. Embassy’s National Day celebration in Senegal on Feb. 16, 2023. Dvidshub reported that the musical unit participated in the event after receiving an invitation from U.S. Ambassador to Senegal Mike Raynor.

According to the report, the audience included foreign dignitaries who live and work within Senegal. Ambassador Raynor stood with members of the band and chorus at the conclusion of the festivities, as documented in imagery credited to Cindy Dorfner of U.S. Army Europe and Africa. The coverage noted that the United States and Senegal have maintained more than 60 years of strong cooperation.

Dvidshub further stated that Senegal serves as an important partner for the United States in efforts to promote peace and security throughout West Africa. The event highlighted the ongoing diplomatic relationship between the two nations through the presence of the military musical ensemble.
