A band director at Adairville School in Logan County, Kentucky, is facing charges related to child exploitation material, according to Kentucky State Police. Austin C. Epley, 25, was arrested Tuesday and charged with distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor under 12, Trooper Katan Parker reported.
According to authorities, Epley was discovered sharing images of child sexual exploitation online. A search of a Russellville residence resulted in the seizure of equipment used in the alleged crime, troopers stated. Adairville School serves students in grades K-8, according to the Logan County Schools website.
Logan County Schools Superintendent Dr. Dan Costellow confirmed Epley’s arrest and removal from district employment. Costellow stated the district’s priority is student safety and that the individual will not be permitted on school grounds until the matter is resolved. He also indicated that the investigation, based on current information, does not involve any Logan County Schools students.
The school district has initiated an internal investigation and is cooperating with law enforcement, Costellow added. Epley is currently being held at the Logan County Detention Center. The information was initially reported by WNKY.
