Musician 1st Class Brian Mathis received the Sailor of the Quarter award for the Second Quarter of 2026, according to the U.S. Navy Band Northwest. Bandmaster Lt. David Drescher presented Mathis with a Flag Letter of Commendation during a ceremony held at the band hall on Naval Base Kitsap – Bangor, Washington.
The award ceremony took place June 25, 2026, and was documented by Musician 2nd Class Benjamin Morgan. Mathis’s selection was announced by the Navy Band Northwest, which is based in Kitsap, Washington.
