The Music Network reported that The Push will expand its high‑school music events and industry‑career workshops nationwide in 2027 after receiving $400,244 through the government’s Revive Live Program. The funding will support six events in New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Tasmania and South Australia.
The expansion follows two successful events held earlier this year in the Australian Capital Territory and Victoria. Up to 12,000 students are expected to take part, and the program will be delivered in partnership with triple j.
In addition to the live events, The Push will run six careers workshops featuring established artists, giving young people practical music‑industry skills and pathways into both performance and behind‑the‑scenes roles.
Arts Minister Tony Burke said the investment is critical to the sector’s long‑term sustainability, noting that nurturing young audiences and workers helps secure the future of Australian music.
The Revive Live Program has so far provided more than $19 million in grants to 221 live‑music businesses, supporting venues, festivals and broader industry participation.
