Students from the Liberty High School Choir are set to join the classic rock band Foreigner on stage this Friday at the Morton Amphitheater. KCTV reported that the group secured this opportunity after winning a local radio station contest earlier this spring by submitting a recording. Head Choir Director Philip Brown told the station that the band frequently invites school choirs to perform their hit song during tour stops.
Brown expressed excitement about the unique opportunity, noting that such moments are rare for high school students. Senior student Ayodeji Ajayi-Nilson shared similar enthusiasm, stating that few peers can say they performed with a professional rock band. Another senior, Madelynn Heits, said she hopes to learn what it is like to be a performer on a live stage as she prepares for her future aspirations.
Brown emphasized his desire for students to create memories from performing with a legendary group in front of a large audience. The double-feature concert, which also includes Lynyrd Skynyrd, is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. this Friday.
