Marion, Massachusetts, Position Summary:  Tabor Academy seeks a compelling and passionate music educator as a temporary, part-time leave replacement in Fall 2026 to teach two sections of Choral Music.
Tabor’s Arts Programming offers students the chance to develop as whole people – through opportunities for personal expression that promote healthy development and well-being, as well as through the teaching and honing of discipline-specific skills. Tabor believes that the Arts provide a unique opportunity for students to engage in experiential learning that cultivates their creative problem-solving abilities, helps them become effective communicators, and readies them for life after high school.
This position does not come with school provided housing. This is a temporary, part-time position starting in the fall semester around August 31, and ending February 3, 2027. There is potential for this position to be extended for the full year.
Key Responsibilities: •    Teach 2 class blocks of choral music per semester: Mixed Chorus, an entry-level course that is open to all students, and Madrigals Singers, an audition-only course for more advanced choral students. Each class block meets four times per week, in a rotating schedule. An accompanist is provided for each class block.  •    Collaborate with Admissions, Advancement, fellow Arts teachers, or other departments to plan and coordinate performances for school events. •    Grade student assignments in a timely manner, and in alignment with Arts Department grading practices.  •    Submit grades and class comments in accordance with the school communication policy.  •    Attend faculty and department meetings as required. •    Model flexibility in both implementing and best learning practices and pursuing success for each student. •    Possess a high degree of cultural competency and demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and perspectives. •    Convey patience, empathy, enthusiasm, and optimism in their work with adolescents and faculty. •    Have excellent interpersonal, communication (writing, listening, speaking), and organizational skills, and the ability to interact and work effectively with students, parents, faculty and other employees with professionalism. Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
Preferred: Experience in secondary or post-secondary instruction and/or residential oversight. Tabor Academy is eager to consider applications from people traditionally underrepresented in independent boarding school communities.
