WISH-TV reported that the Fishers High School choir will share the stage with rock legends Foreigner at Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville this Friday. About 24 students from the school’s top‑tier ensemble are slated to join the band for the finale.
Choir director Laney De Luna said the chance to perform professionally is a rare opportunity for the students and noted that Foreigner’s $500 contribution comes at a time when many arts programs face budget cuts. The group will sing Foreigner’s classic hit “I Want to Know What Love Is,” providing a memorable kickoff to the new school year.
Student choir president Nya Beck expressed excitement, joking that she might be distracted in math class after rehearsing. The students learned of the collaboration in early June, giving them just over a month to prepare before school began.
Local Shriners will sell Foreigner greatest‑hits CDs at the concert, with proceeds supporting the Grammy Foundation and Shriners Hospitals for Children. The concert starts at 7 p.m., and tickets are available through Ticketmaster. Students will attend school that day before heading to a sound check after classes end, and principal Kyle Goodwin and the administrative team have voiced strong support for the event.
