Final concert of Beskid Youth Orchestra 2026 opens in Jastrzębie‑Zdrój

ejastrzebie.pl reported that the final concert of the Beskid Youth Orchestra 2026 is scheduled for Friday, July 31, at 6:00 p.m. in the concert hall of the State Music School named after Professor Józef Świdra in Jastrzębie‑Zdrój.

The event will bring together 45 young artists from Poland, Czechia and Slovakia in the first full‑symphony format for the project, following intensive workshops led by noted European musicians. The source noted that the initiative enjoys the backing of the culture ministers of the three countries, is highlighted in the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage’s “Art Education” program, and receives funding from that ministry and the Silesian Voivodeship.

Dr. Paweł Kotla, the orchestra’s founder, created the ensemble to fill a gap in permanent educational platforms for regional youth musicians, building on a successful 2025 pilot. He has previously founded I, CULTURE Orchestra and cited his experience during Poland’s 2011 EU Council presidency as inspiration.

The program includes Stanisław Moniuszko’s overture “Fairytale,” Robert Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A‑minor, Op. 54 performed by pianist Ryan Martin Bradshaw, and Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 “From the New World,” with Kotla conducting. Admission is free, according to the source.
